School Vouchers Essay -- Position Paper School Vouchers

School Vouchers      School vouchers can be portrayed as budgetary financing given to understudies who choose not to go to state funded schools. Thusly the administration would not be going through cash instructing that understudy in a government funded school. A school voucher is the apportioning of cash that the legislature would have utilized for that understudy to go to state funded school. This cash is then given to the group of the understudy to help support the instruction of that understudy. This cash can't be utilized for something besides training. There are numerous sides to take and numerous assessments to be had. It is extremely evident that the possibility of school vouchers is an issue to be discussed. A few people feel that in the event that they are not utilizing the government’s type of training, at that point they ought to be paid for not utilizing it, so as to help fund different types of instruction. On the opposite side of the issue, a few people feel that scho ol vouchers would be utilized as a rule to finance strict schools. This turns into a hotly debated issue because of the detachment of chapel and state. To put it plainly, does cash not being utilized by an understudy have a place with that understudy, and would it be able to be utilized for a private, and here and there strict, school. There are just two coherent choices to settle this problem of school vouchers. The first is that the administration gives school vouchers to understudies not tried out the government funded educational system. The second is that the legislature doesn't give school vouchers to understudies not took a crack at the state funded educational system. There are numerous specifications that could be applied to the two sides of the contention, yet the primary concern continues as before. The administration can either give or not give school vouchers. On the off chance that the administration ought to choose to give school vouchers, there are both positive and negative angles to that choice.      Considering that the United States government would concede school vouchers to understudies, there would be numerous positive additions. For example, that decision would make everything fair, with respect to training, between low-pay families and privileged families (Messerli). This would be practiced by giving fiscal financing to groups of understudies that couldn't beforehand bear to go to an establishment of private schooling. Thus, more understudies would have the option to try out tuition based schools. An expansion in participation at tuition based schools would be an advantage to the entire of the instruction framework. This ben... ...ios and factors introduced, I would suggest that an across the nation voucher program be presented. I feel that a voucher program’s benefits far exceed the weaknesses. A voucher program would not exclusively be helpful to guardians and understudies, yet additionally to training as it stands today. Guardians would profit by putting together their choices about instruction with respect to the value of the school rather than on cash. Understudies would profit by having a decision among open and tuition based school. Indeed, even understudies not associated with the voucher program would profit, by littler class sizes, greater decent variety, and better instructing because of rivalry between schools. Instruction as we probably am aware it today, both open and private, would profit by having more options, and would then have the option to help more understudies in arriving at their instructive objectives. How Executives Should Answer One Scary Interview Question Who Wrote Your Resume

How Executives Should Answer One Scary Interview Question Who Wrote Your Resume Should officials compose their own resumes? As an official resume essayist, I run into a specific number of individuals who accept each activity competitor, paying little mind to industry, ought to compose their own resume. While I concur firmly that understudies ought to compose their own scholastic papers and school application expositions, I contemplate whether administrators ought to compose their own resumes. Consider it. Officials are not being decided on their capacity to design an excellent report and art incredible shots about themselves. They have not gone through years examining and rehearsing the specialty of resume composing. What is an executive’s work? All C-Level officials need ground breaking system aptitudes and the capacity to oversee and inspire groups. A CTO has to know innovation. A CFO has to know money. A CMO has to know advertising. A CEO needs to actualize elevated level technique; guarantee that groups are working ideally; settle on key choices that serve the wellbeing of both the organization and its clients; keep activities running easily; and liaise between the directorate and corporate tasks. No place in this rundown is being an extraordinary essayist, visual originator, or resume projectile crafter. So for what reason should an official ever compose their own resume? I can’t think about an explanation. Indeed, the most gifted and achieved official could be undersold and undermined by a self-developed resume. What's more, isn’t an executive’s occupation to designate duty to others as opposed to get trapped in the weeds? Effective officials are all around keen on utilizing their time. They don't have 10 hours to spend wrestling over how to introduce their achievements recorded as a hard copy. They would prefer to pay somebody to do what that individual progresses admirably, in administration of an incredible outcome. The inquiry question Given this, what would it be a good idea for you to do on the off chance that you are an official and in a meeting, you are asked who composed your resume? One recruiting chief, whom I will call Mike, utilized that â€Å"trick† question to vet applicants. He composes, â€Å"I discovered a great deal by the response to that question. The best reaction I at any point heard was an unruffled ‘I contracted with somebody great in that business. See, [Mike], you are talking with me for the Chief Technical Officer position. I care about the nature of the final product. I dont compose programming just as a portion of the people in the Engineering gathering. I dont compose continues just as the administration. Nature of result and cost count.’† Mike proceeds, â€Å"Ive seen a few applicants get bothered and ramble nonsensically. I even had one up-and-comer guarantee he composed it, just to interfere with me ten minutes after the fact to repudiate himself.† I was struck in this story by the properties this fruitful candidate’s answer appeared: respectability, trustworthiness, definitiveness, the capacity to remain clear under tension, an outcomes center, and a promise to finding the best individuals to carry out any responsibility. Those are characteristics I would need in an official. Official obligations as work up-and-comer In any event, when another person composes your official resume, you experience the way toward getting clear about the difficulties you confronted, the moves you made, and the outcomes you accomplished. That is each executive’s work to do, with the help of a resume essayist whenever wanted. My recommendation is to done your absolute best, and to use your assets ideally to do that. What's your opinion about officials composing their own resumes? Do you have some other top pick, uncovering inquiries addresses you need to share? It would be ideal if you remark underneath!

The Story of Tonight

The Story of Tonight Satisfied It hit me just a little while ago, that today is November 1st. Its been exactly two years since I pressed the submit button on my MIT application. In the span of a lifetime, two years is really not that long. And yet here I am, struggling to remember just exactly where I was 2 years ago.  I have other things on my mind. The thermodynamics midterm next week. The mini prep and plate replications I have to do in lab tomorrow. The list of internship applications I need to fill out. The morning alarm clock that will pull me out of bed with only five hours of sleep. Im stuck in between the lines of my to-do list. In between my hour-by-hour schedule. But today is November 1st. Its been exactly two years since I pressed the submit button on my MIT application. Its also been exactly one week since I watched Hamilton on tour. An entire week of attempting to do justice to one of the most beautiful productions of theatre. Of writing and editing and deleting. And writing again. The only way to really describe the experience of watching Hamilton is to compare it to finishing a really good book. The lights begin to dim. The background music picks up. The spotlight sharply points to the set. The hall goes silent as hundreds of individual breaths are held in still air. One last moment to yourself before youre pulled out of your seat into a three hour hullabaloo of interminable giggling, under breath singing, rhythmic stomping, loud chuckling and silent sobbing. You spend hours indulged into it. Reality and fiction become a big blur. You start to see things through the eyes of the characters. You smile when they smile, cry when they cry. And through it all you learn a little bit more about the world around you. The world in you. An arrow pointing right Previous An arrow pointing right Next And then you make it to the last page of the novel. The last song. The last sentence. The last lyric. And then it’s over. You don’t know what to do with yourself anymore.  And so you do the two things you can do: listen to the playlist on repeat and attempt to make sense of it all by writing a blog post. So here it goes.     Satisfied As I made way to my seat, the air buzzed with a refreshing sense of anticipation and excitement. I took a look around at the sea of people brought together on a mundane Thursday night. It hit me then, in that very moment, that I had zero clue as to what to expect. I  had never listened to the Hamilton soundtrack in its entirety. I knew as much about Alexander as AP US History teaches. And well, it looked like everyone around me was better equipped going in. My friends tell me that I had the better experience because of it. I was experiencing everything for the first time in the most unguided way possible. I shimmied along with King George. I sang along to Dear Theodosia. I laughed along with Thomas Jefferson. I felt the need to jump out of my seat for Hamilton. I cried MULTIPLE TIMES. And to be honest, it was refreshing. It made me feel a bit more human. Senior year, my life mantra was when was the last time you did something for the first time? Theres just something about experiencing something new. Something different. Perhaps its the realization that those experiences make you a different person. That they pick you off of your feet and gently drop you a few steps ahead. And even if its in the smallest of ways, youve changed because of it. And change keeps life interesting. I needed a reminder of that. Raise Your Glass To Freedom Sophomore year has been hard. Its been challenging in ways freshman-year Afeefah didnt think possible. Its become a routine of going to bed incredibly late. Of waking up early. Of starting my day by making a list for the rest of the day. Because suddenly, things seems to be moving faster than I can keep up with. It feels like I dont have enough time to get all the things I want to get done. And so I make a list. Because making a list is the first step to optimization? Right? But sometimes things cant be planned. Because spontaneity is good. And stepping away from campus and taking an Uber down to the Boston Opera House and spending three hours of your life sitting in a theatre, followed by an hour of stage dooring in the cold is an experience that cant be written down. It required throwing psets aside for later and sacrificing a few hours of sleep. It required going with the flow. It required putting my phone aside so that I constantly didnt check time. To a certain extent, Ive become a prisoner to my attempt to become more systematic and more disciplined. And in doing so, Ive forgotten the importance of balance. Of sometimes stepping away from work. Of leaving campus for a while. Of temporarily freeing myself from the interminable responsibilities and tasks I have. Because life isnt meant to be reduced to a list of things to do. Not Gonna Throw Away My Shot In the midst of all of this, I often forget where I am in life. That at some point, Ill look back at these four years. And Ill think about how they changed me. Hopefully for the better. Sometimes, in the moment, we get so focused on the struggles we face. That we forget what were struggling for in the first place. I havent had a single midterm go well this semester. And if anything its broken my self esteem into millions of little pieces. Its left me young, scrappy, and hungry. There have been too many nights of going to bed feeling defeated. Of waking up in the morning feeling drained and tired from constantly trying and not meeting my self expectations. It hits me though, in small doses, that this is my shot. My shot to do something with myself. To become a better version of myself. To shape tomorrow in whatever way I choose. To do something for others. And every day is a new shot. A new chance to wake up excited in the morning. To learn from the people around me. To meet someone new. To foster new friendships. To create storylines and memory pipelines for a lifetime. Its been two years since my journey with MIT began. Since a poster on my wall suddenly became my everyday reality. Im still not sure why Im here. I still wonder to myself what part of me someone else loved enough to let me in. Because to be honest, Im at a point in my life where I really dont know who I am. I dont know what my strengths and weaknesses are. I dont know what my selling point is. But I guess thats the fun of it. Not knowing where Im headed, but knowing that I am blessed and fortunate enough to have shots in the first place. Youll Blow Us All Away Someday, someday. When I look back at senior year, there are many people that come to mind. My parents, who listened to my constant complaining. Who gave me the space I needed when I was swamped with work. Who would bring food to me when I refused to get up to go eat. Who stood with me in moments of success and sat with me in moments of tears. Who constantly reminded me that I didnt need to prove myself to anyone. My brother, who always made sure I blew off steam. Who was the comic relief in months of overwhelming stress and essay writing. My grandparents, my aunts, my uncles, my cousins, who were always a FaceTime call away. Who were a world separate from the encompassing universe of college applications. My  teachers, whose doors were always open after school. Who read over my essays over and over again with patience. Who supported me to the very last minute. My college counselor, who sat with me the evening before my MIT interview to run through a mock. Who assured me, when I was stressed out of m y mind, that all I had to do was believe in the person I was. My friends, who had their own essays to write, and yet would help edit mine. Who were constant reminders of the fleeting nature of senior year. I like to think about all of these people frequently. Because it really does take a village to raise a child.  And if I am where I am in life today, I choose to believe that its in majority due to the people I have been fortunate enough to have in my life. Thinking about those people gives me motivation when I feel like I have none left. And if I keep working at, maybe someday, someday. I might just blow them all away. Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story Watching Hamilton was an affirmation of just how much I love biographies. I love watching them. I love reading them. I love being able to see what a person starts off as and what they ultimately become. To trace back the story of their life. The real beauty comes in realizing that every day is another page of our own personal biography. That were all in the process of writing one bit by bit. And sure, it might not make it to the bookshelves years from now. But that doesnt matter. Because biographies are powerful regardless. Because every second of the day directs our story forward. And as we write our biographies, we dont know where the plot is headed. To a certain extent, life may be writing huge chunks of the biography for us. But you ultimately get to dictate how its told. And thats pretty empowering. And I guess thats my new goal. To take every moment as another addition to the story of me. And perhaps whats even more appealing is being able to look back at the story youve written so far. To think that senior-year Afeefah couldnt possibly have comprehended being in Boston a short two years later. And to think that I now have 19 years of life to look back at. 19 years to be proud of. And that day by day my biography only moves forward. To those currently submerged in college applications, a few things to remember: Seek new experiences. Take breaks. Be spontaneous. Appreciate the people in your life. And most of all enjoy it all. Youre in the process of writing a new chapter for your biography. And when you feel ready for it, consider reading it out loud. Id love to hear all about it. Post Tagged #Applying #Broadway #Deep Breaths #Hamilton #November First #Writing Your Biography

Rape And The Mortal Rapists - 1437 Words

In ancient Greco-Roman mythic narrative rape is depicted as a normalised and often essential paradigm that is used to show the gods’ dominance over lesser beings. Numerous accounts represent the gods as having transcended the boundaries of justice and morality by highlighting their exemption from prosecution for rape in contrast to mortal rapists, who cannot avoid punishment. Furthermore, aetiological-rape myths reveal that only the gods could bring about creation through rape, whether it be the birth of divine offspring, the dawn of natural phenomena or the founding of new institutions. In this light, the divine rapists are better than the mortal rapists because at least their penetration can prove productive for narrative continuity.†¦show more content†¦On the other hand, mortal barbarian Tereus, who had locked up his sister-in-law in a hut in the woods and had raped and mutilated her, is served up his son Itys for supper as a form of revenge from his wife Procne . Likewise, Ajax and his fleet her subject to Athena’s wrath after he robs Cassandra of her maidenhood in the goddess’s temple . Thus, these mortal rapists seem to be bound to an ill fate while the gods are exempt from accountability. After closer examination it is noticed that there are tonal and textual differences between the myths of divine rapists and mortal rapist, these differences providing support as to why rape by gods seems less punishable than compared to rape committed by mortal men. Much of the Daphne and Apollo story carries a sense of excitement and titillation as Ovid replaces sexually explicit rape with descriptions of Daphne’s beauty and her running away: â€Å"She was graceful to see, as the wind bared her limbs and its gusts stirred her garments †¦ he gave the fleeing maiden no respite, but followed close on her heels, and his breath touched the locks that lay scattered on her neck.† (Ovid, Metamorphoses 1.526-7, 541-3) Apollo cou ld have seized and raped her immediately but instead attempts to woe her with words in a courtly manner. Upon Daphne turning into a laurel tree Apollo declares: â€Å"You (Daphne: laurel) will accompany the generals of Rome, when the Capitol

Erotic Ascension And Stylistic Hoverance The Symposium Body

Erotic Ascension and Stylistic Hoverance: The Symposium Body The initial sentence of the Symposium—â€Å"In fact, your question does not find me unprepared†Ã¢â‚¬â€operates with an odd and mordant brevity. The close sandwiching of â€Å"in fact† and â€Å"does not† is a performative linkage of qualifiers that, in consideration of later text, functions as stylistic foreshadowing—what might be read as subtle mockery of the dialogic form (in that the sentence responds to an unknown provocatory referent) also hesitantly establishes an opacity that accurately exemplifies the Symposium’s widespread use of stylistic hoverance: its complex layering and alternations among comedic, pedantic, philosophical, and didactic registers. â€Å"Does not find me unprepared† is gratuitous hesitance, a signpost for the winking comedic rhetorics of salutatory debate. In fact, your question does not find me unprepared—of course I shall fabricate an explanatory ascendance laced by the performative codes of circui tous humor. Just the other day, as it happens†¦ Threads similar to the above rendition of (impudent) stylistic interpolation continue throughout the Symposium, and often center particularly around questions (and imagery) of ‘the body’ as an ambivalent object of discussion, description, and desire. Diotima’s espousal of an ascendancy—arguably Plato’s ‘philosophical climax’—from bodily desire for the physical beauty of a young boy (â€Å"devot[ion] to beautiful bodies†) to a singular beauty that is eternal (â€Å"just what it is

Joseph Stalin Essay Free Essays

Stalin: Evaluation of His Leadership At the time, Stalin seemed like he was the greatest person on Earth. He made himself seem as if he was above everybody, both physically and mentally. After all of the revolts that were occurring in Russia, he just took over. We will write a custom essay sample on Joseph Stalin Essay or any similar topic only for you Order Now He went into power right after Lenin had died and took his place, over Trotsky who also wanted to rule over Russia. Well he didn’t and we can’t change that. All we can do is remember Stalin and remember all of the things he did to make people support him and his cause to industrialize Russia. Let’s talk a little but about how Russia was before Stalin came into power and changed up the whole game for Russia. As soon as the Czar of Russia (Nicholas II) was kicked off his throne, Russia’s peasant population came strong and in numbers. These peasants all set up something that was called the Provisional Government. The Provisional Government was formed in Petrograd, and was led first by Prince Georgy L’vov and then by socialist Alexander Kerensky, a prominent member of the Duma and a leader of the movement to unseat the Tsar. This government had really good intentions but they just couldn’t make it happen. And the fact that they made some not so smart choices doesn’t help too much either. The people of Russia wanted this government gone which launched the November Revolution led by Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks. What they wanted to do was to gain freedom, land and political strength. And so they did; they overthrew the fragmented government and finally had accomplished what they set out to do. But just like the Provisional Government, the Bolshevik government was sure to fail too. This is where Stalin comes in; this is where he takes over. Joseph Stalin took over right after Lenin had died and in December 1924, Stalin declared himself the new Leader of the USSR and became the Dictator of Russia. Now at first, Stalin didn’t seem like such a bad guy. He actually seemed like someone who was going to bring Russia to their prime. Just look at Document One. He’s explaining to his people how far behind they really are compared to the rest of the world and that if they don’t do something soon, they’re done. All he wanted to do was fix Russia, to bring them out of their â€Å"hundred year lag† and to make them more powerful. That was the goal of his 5 Year Plan. Stalin had extremely high expectations for Russia now that he was in power, and he would do anything to achieve them. If you look at Document Two, you can see how high he set his expectations. And then again, if you look at Document Three, you could see the amount of success he had with both of his Five Year Plans. Production in some areas were increasing at a very rapid pace. He wanted to more than double the production that Russia was putting out. You can see how much better he wanted to make his country, but he would do anything for it. Joseph Stalin was a very determined man and he would do anything to get what he wanted. This is where his use of propaganda came in. What is propaganda? You can think of it as information that is spread for the purpose of promoting some cause. If you look at Document Ten, you can see how he was portrayed by many different artists. Well, the artists really didn’t have a choice but to portray him in a positive way. This is where you can finally see the â€Å"evil† side of Joseph Stalin. He used force to get what he wanted and many people didn’t see it. Eventually, his Five Year Plans backfired and really sent the peasants into an even deeper level of poverty. Not only did he send some of the peasants into even more poverty that they were already in, he even killed some of them or put them in work camps and starved them to death. (Document Seven). He wasn’t going to let anybody stand in his way and if they tried, he would kill them off just like that. So as you can see, once Stalin came into power, he really didn’t want to lose his command over the Russian country. He did anything he had do to keep power and although all his intentions seemed good, he was really a dictator who made things a lot worse for the lower class of Russia. It’s too bad that many people couldn’t do anything about it because he would kill off anybody that revolted against him. So although he was one of the most terrorizing rulers of Russia, nobody ever really knew because of all the things he did to hide his truly evil side. To the people, he remained pure and an amazing leader; but we all know about things he did to make himself seem that way. Sure, his intentions were good (industrialize Russia and catch up to the rest of the world), but all we can do is remember all of the methods he used to make people support him and his cause. Poetry commentary on success is counted sweetest Essay Example For Students

Poetry commentary on success is counted sweetest Essay Emily Dickinson basically sends the message that success, Like any other possession tangible or Intangible, Is only appreciated by those whom It Is not always readily available. Dickinson both clearly states this message and Implies It throughout the poem, and uses rhyme, Imagery, and irony to incorporate the theme that the one who holds success dearest to them is the one who never succeeds. The rhythmic pattern makes the poem flow together, using the rhyme scheme ABACA n the short, choppy stanzas, like a song. This typical rhyming scheme gives a light affect to the poem; creating the feeling of simplifies and achieving the feeling that the message is not buried deep in the poems lines and is easy to comprehend. Emily also uses Imagery to develop her message. She writes Not one of all the purple Host Who took the Flag today Can tell the definition So clear of Victory (Lines 5-8) and this paints a picture of the victor In the war, who does not understand to the full extent what his victory Is. ND Just counts It as another victory. The defeated, however, is in ;agony and knows how powerful success is and what affect it has. Dickinson also implies irony when she says that As he defeated dying On whose forbidden ear The distant strains of triumph Burst agonized and clear! (Lines 9-12) as she implies that the defeated is the one that actually feels what success is, even though he is not the one that achieved it. She implies that the message of triumph is odder in the ears of those who do not have it; those who have reached success have not felt what It Is like without success. Emails theme Is not atypical; she sends the message that one never fully appreciates what one has until It Is no more, because an abundance Is usually taken for granted. In this case, the possession that is not appreciated by those who have It Is success, because not being victorious is surely a greater loss than being victorious is a gain.

Communication Strategy as a Management Tool

Communication is vital for successful attainment of corporate goals in both profit and non-profit making organisations. Any organisation has a noble goal of fulfilling its set targets and attainment of its corporate objective; to attain this goal, the flow of information is essential (Wang, Hult, Ketchen Ahmed, 2009). Communication in a business context cuts back and forth to all stakeholders; the major stakeholders affected directly by the quality of information flow are employees, customers and shareholders.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Communication Strategy as a Management Tool specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Yenkey, Christopher, in his article Transparency as an organizational characteristic: the critical role of information flow, presented to annual Meeting of American Sociological Association in Philadelphia, came up with a number of hypotheses to show the importance of communication in formal and inf ormal organisations. This paper discusses hypothesis four and five of the article. Hypothesis: Organizational Goals The writer hypothesised that the kind of organisation that is receiving information dictates the form and kind of communication to take place; communication was hypothesised to be influenced by organisational goals (Yenkey, 2005). The hypothesis is true; this is so because the world has a number of organisations with different roles, goals and management strategies, the approach taken in profit making and non profit making organisation is different thus they mode of communication is special and unique to them (Whitaker, 2004). Secondly communication is a management tool, there is no one management system that is applicable to all organisation, what prevails is an adjustment of a strategy to meet the needs of a particular organisation. Good business communications in relationships with either fellow staffs or customers is needed in order to prosper. Business success can be measured in terms of the practicability of business relationships, which is directly proportional to the quality of communication (Swamson, 2009). Some social organisation like the security forces may have a one-direction flow of information in terms of commands (top-down communication), while other social institution, which are performance-driven, as hospitals will have a dual communication system. For example in military attacks, the commander orders are top bottom since the situation demand so (Guffey, 2009). Hypothesis: Role of the Target Audience In a communication, there is the recipient of the information conveyed; according to hypothesis five the qualities of the information outflows  is dependent to the target audience (Yenkey, 2005). The above hypothesis is true; this is so because how well the audience can receive the information determines whether they will get the information right or not. The target communication has a language and a culture that must be understo od when passing the information, their values, qualifications, expectations and skills will be considered when passing certain information (Wheelen Hunger, 1999).Advertising Looking for essay on business communication? When the audience are people who do not understand, the management is seen to teach them on the expected; this creates a difference in the channel used, tones and approach adopted. Communication means more than just giving out messages; it involves speaking, listening, sending, and receiving messages; listening is the key to success for an effective communication the audience must be willing to listen and understand the message as conveyed and not distort the meaning. For business communication to be successful, listening has to be proficient. Listening simply means holding back one’s judgment and allowing answers to come from outside (Guffer Almonte, 2009). Conclusion An effective communication strategy is a management tool where two-way flow of information is facilitated; it assists in the attainment of organisational goals and objectives. Different organisations have different communication approaches; target audience and organisation’s corporate goals influence the approach adopted. References Guffer, M. E. Almonte, R. (2009). If you’re not on Free and Reduced Lunch but meet one of the other requirements, you might have to providedocumentation, such as tax records, to prove your eligibility. Now that you know whether or not you’re eligible, let’s look closer at exactly what the ACT fee waiver does and doesn't cover in terms of costs. What Does the ACT Fee Waiver Cover? The ACT fee waiver covers the basic registration fee for either the ACT without Writing or the ACT with Writing. If you’re eligible, you can get a maximum of two waivers, meaning you will be able to take the ACT for free twice. Fee waivers are valid through August 31 each year, so you might have to get one waiver your junior year and the other your senior year. You can also waive the fee to send one score report to your high school and up to four score reports to colleges. Speak with your guidance counselor to learn more about how your school handles ACT fee waiver distribution. What Does the ACT Fee Waiver NOT Cover? The ACT fee waiver doesn't cover late registration fees if you register past the normal deadline. It also doesn't cover fees forchanges in your registration, such as changes to your test date, test center, or test option (with or without Writing), or standby if you wish to be put on a waitlist. As mentioned above, the fee waiver will cover four score reports to colleges. Any additional score reports will have to be paid for. Currently, they are $13 each. Finally, a fee waiver can only be used once for registration. If you miss the test you signed up for, you can’t use the same fee waiver again. So make sure you don’t miss your test! How to Get an ACT Fee Waiver To get an ACT fee waiver, first speak with your school counselor. Counselors receive the fee waivers directly and are responsible for getting them to students. This doesn’t mean you should wait for your counselor to come to you, though. As you design your testing plan, get this taken care of early- ideally by the beginning of your junior year. This way you can confirm that you'll have the fee waiver before you choose a test date. When you register for the ACT, you'll need to enter your ACT fee waiver code- i.e.,the serial number printed in the top-right corner of your fee waiver form. If you have any additional charges not covered by the fee waiver, such as extra services or test-date changes, you'll have to pay for these by credit card before you finish registering. If you don't have any other charges, your registration for the ACT will be completely free! 3 ACT Prep Tips If You're Using an ACT Fee Waiver Before you take the ACT, you need to know how to prepare and study effectively in order to get a good score on test day. Here are three tips for those who have secured an ACT fee waiver: #1: Prepare Ahead of Time Preparation is the #1 factor to improving your ACT scores, but you need to make sure you’re prepping right. This means you must do the following: Understand your strengths and weaknesses Use high-quality ACT prep materials Set manageable goals Understand the ACT format and the skills being tested You can alsocheck outour free ebook detailing the five most important tips all students need to know to master the ACT. #2: Choose a Test Date and Center That Work Well for You As we mentioned above, sign up for a test date and centerthat'll work for your schedule. You can’t reuse the same ACT fee waiver should you miss your test, so it's critical to pick a place you won't have trouble getting to and a time you won't miss. If you are limited to taking the ACT twice (since you can get a maximum of two fee waivers), you'll want to design your testing plan around this fact. Almost all students improve their ACT scores on a second attempt, and many colleges will superscore your ACT score(i.e., consider your highest section scores across all dates to calculate your strongest composite score). In terms ofoptimal test dates, many students test in the spring of their junior year and again in the early fall of their senior year. With careful planning and customized preparation, you'll be able to maximize your two (free) ACT testing opportunities. #3: Use Realistic Practice Tests Whether you're taking the ACT once or twice, make sure totake official ACT practice tests under simulated testing conditions as you prep. By timing yourself, taking short breaks, and even practicing on a Saturday morning (as you'll do on the real test), you'll gradually get used to the ACT's pacing and develop the stamina you need to perform your best on test day. Recap: Getting and Using an ACT Fee Waiver All in all, getting and using an ACT fee waiver is a pretty simple process, as long as you know where to start. Before you apply for a fee waiver, check the ACT website to confirm that you are eligible. Then, talk to your counselor to get more information on how to apply and send one in. The ACT fee waiver covers the full cost of the ACT (with or without Writing) but does not cover extra charges such as changes to your test date or test center. Note that you can get up to two fee waivers in total, and you can't use the same fee waiver for more than one test. In terms of tips, make sure you have access to your fee waivers well ahead of registration for your preferred test date. Also, definitely communicate with your school counselor, as he or she will have access to the fee waivers and will be there to support you throughout the college process. If you plan to get two ACT fee waivers, make sure you have enough time to take the ACT twice. Don’t wait until senior year to get your first fee waiver since this likely won't give you enough time to take the ACT more than once. What’s Next? My Company currently makes its hiring selections on the basis of online applications, which are then screened using background checks on identity, education and work history. After this initial process of screening, the Company then selects a list of potential candidates for the interview process, which is the basis for an offer of employment. However, I feel that this process should be refined and the candidates should be made to take additional personality and integrity tests like the ones identified above, so that a good assessment can be made about how likely they are to be employees of integrity and honesty. The nature of current background checks are very preliminary and may not be adequate to identify potentially defrauding employees who could be a liability to the Company. 3. The reason for the sparse use of tuition reimbursement plans is the fact that in most organizations, tuition reimbursement plans are just bundled in with other administrative costs and no one is really responsible for them. Moreover, in most cases, the kind of degrees available under such plans are degrees at community colleges, with those who avail of it being disappointed when their Companies do not immediately recognize their new degrees in the form of promotions, etc. As a result, they are not frequently used. 4. After working as a team member, being promoted as Manager is hard because the team members are not used to viewing their peer in a superior capacity and therefore it may be difficult for the new Commander to

Week 12 Real Estate CD Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Week 12 Real Estate CD - Essay Example Stambosky appealed against the ruling, and by majority, the appellant court denoted that the rumors about the existence of ghosts in the house greatly affected its value. However, the appeal court did not grant any damages to Stambosky in relation to misrepresentation of facts concerning the stature of the house. The court ruled that, it was not the duty of the real estate agent to disclose such information because of the principles of caveat emptor. New York at the time enacted the principles of caveat emptor in its laws (Emanuel, 2006). I agree with this ruling, because the customer should have sought information about the house, before deciding to buy. It was not the duty of the seller to give him such information. However the court ruled in favor of Stambosky regarding the rescinding of the contract (Emanuel, 2006). According to the appeal court, searching the house by the buyer could not reveal the existence of a ghost, and according to the principles of equity, it was prudent to rescind the contract. I agree with this decision because under the principles of caveat emptor, the buyer should have sought information regarding the quality and value of the house. However, it is difficult to identify the existence of ghosts by searching the house and therefore through equity, it is prudent to rescind the house. On this not therefore, the matter of non-disclosure did not sway the court in any

I think people are talking more about performance and results and consequences. They are not necessarily doing more about it. From this it is clear that training and development is the important factor. So the significance of our study is that the training improves performance. Thus the purpose of this study is to show the impact training development on the employee performance. Results are strongly based on the literature review. Results show that Training and Development, On the Job Training and Training Design and Delivery style have significant effect on Organizational Performance and all these have positively affect the Organizational Performance. Training is important for the backbone of every organization and it is also the main resource of the organization. So organizations invest huge amount on the human resource capital because the performance of human resource will ultimately increase the performance of the organization. Performance is a major multidimensional construct a imed to achieve results and has a strong link to strategic goals of an organization .As researcher explains that performance is the key element to achieve the goals of the organization so to performance increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization which is helpful for the achievement of the organizational goals. But the question arise that how an employee can work more effectively and efficiently to increase the growth and the productivity of an organization. There are many factors which improves the work of the employee such as flexible scheduling, training etc. It is very necessary for the organization to design the training very carefully. The design of the training should be according to the needs of the employees. Those organizations which develop a good training design according to the need of the employees as well as to the organization always get good results. It seems that Training design plays a very vital role in the employee as well as organizational per formance. A bad training design is nothing but the loss of time and money. On the job training helps employees to get the knowledge of their job in a better way. It is cost effective and time saving. It is good for organization to give their employees on the job training so that their employees learnt in a practical way. Delivery style is a very important part of Training and Development. Employees are very conscious about the delivery style. If someone is not delivering the training in an impressive style and he is not capturing the attention of the audience it is means he is wasting the time. It is very necessary for a trainer to engage its audience during the training sess. Delivery style means so much in the Training and Development. It is very difficult for an employee to perform well at the job place without any pre-training. Trained employees perform well as compared to untrained employees. It is very necessary for any organization to give its employees training to get overall goals of the organization in a better way. Training and development increase the overall performance of the organization. Although it is costly to give training to the employees but in the long run it give back more than it took. Every organization should develop its employees according to the need of that time so that they could compete with their competitors. LITERATURE REVIEW Human resource is the very important and the People learn from their practical experience much better as compare to bookish knowledge. On the job training reduces cost and saves time. It is better for the organizations to give their employees on the job training because it is employees development and the employee development encourage self-fulfilling skills and abilities of employee, decreased operational costs, limits organizational liabilities and changing goals objectives THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK To implement the study following dependent and independent variables are shown in the theoretical HYPOTHESIS DEVELOPMENT Hypothesis development is very important because acceptance and the rejection of hypothesis show the significance of the study. On the basis of literature review and above theoretical frame work we came to develop following hypothesis. In the training development organizational performance is also affected by the training design. Therefore our first hypothesis is: H1: Training design has significant effect on the organizational performance. To increase the knowledge and skills in the job training is given to the employees therefore our second hypothesis is: H2: On the job training has significant effect on the organizational performance. During training development the delivery style of the person who is giving the training also affects the organizational performance so our third hypothesis is: H3: Delivery style has significant effect on the organizational performance. By combining the above mentioned hypothesis our fourth hypothesis is: H4: Training development has significant effect on the organizational performance. METHODOLOGY The study sample comprised of 100 employees of different organizations of Islamabad, capital of Pakistan. The sample is mixed like both male and female. The data is collected through a questionnaire consists of 15 questions. All questions are close ended questions with the use of a five point Likert scale consisted of strongly disagree, disagree, neutral, agree and strongly agree. All questionnaires were distributed and collected by hand from the offices of the organizations in the office timings. Ninety five questionnaires were collected after one weak. 95 of them gave the response to our questionnaire. After checking them 79 were found correct and the respond rate was 83%. These 79 questionnaires were included in the study. The analysis of the questionnaire was undertaken using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). All mean and medians were calculated using SPSS. Descriptive statistics was used to determine the independent variables and to conclude the results on the basis of secondary and primary data. Most of the results consist of secondary data. DISCUSSION It is very necessary for the organization to design the training very carefully. The design of the training should be according to the needs of the employees. Those organizations which develop a good training design according to the need of the employees as well as to the organization always get good results. It seems that Training design plays a very vital role in the employee as well as organizational performance. a bad training design is nothing but the loss of time and money . All these results prove our first Hypothesis which is H1: Training design has significant effect on the organizational performance. And it has a positive effect on the organizational performance. It improves the organizational performance. As we see in the table that most of the means are in between the bracket of 4-5 and 3-4, it means that most of our respondents think that Training Design has significant affect on the organizational performance. This also proves our first hypothesis which is; H1: Training design has significant effect on the organizational performance. If we see the z-test value it lies in the critical region. It means the data and the results are significant of our first hypothesis. On the job training helps employees to get the knowledge of their job in a better way. People learn from their practical experience much better as compare to bookish knowledge. On the job training reduces cost and saves time. It is better for the organizations to give their employees on the job training because it is cost effective and time saving. It is good for organization to give their employees on the job training so that their employees learnt in a practical way. All these results prove our second Hypothesis which is H2: On the job training has significant effect on the organizational performance. And it has a positive effect on the organizational performance. It improves the organizational performance. As we see in the table that most of the means are in between the bracket of 4-5 and 3-4, it means that most of our respondents think that On the Job Training has significant affect on the organizational performance. This also proves our second hypothesis which is; H2: O the job training has significant effect on the organizational performance. And it has a positive effect on the organizational performance. It improves the organizational performance. . If we see the z-test value it lies in the critical region. It means the data and the results are significant of our second hypothesis. Delivery style is a very important part of Training and Development. Employees are very conscious about the delivery. If someone is not delivering the training in an impressive style and he is not capturing the attention of the audience it is means he is wasting the time. It is very necessary for a trainer to engage its audience during the training session. Delivery style means so much in the Training and Development. All these results prove our third Hypothesis which is H3: Delivery style has significant effect on the organizational performance. And it has a positive effect on the organizational performance. It improves the organizational performance. As we see the results some of the respondents disagree with the term that Delivery style has a significant effect on organizational performance. But most of the respondents lie between the brackets of 4-5. So if we consider the majority. The majority of our respondents say that delivery style is very important in the training. And it has a positive effect on the organizational performance. It improves the organizational performance. . If we see the z-test value it lies in the critical region. It means the data and the results are significant of our third hypothesis. All these results prove our fourth Hypothesis which is H4: Training development has significant effect on the organizational performance. And it has a positive effect on the organizational performance. It improves the organizational performance. As we see in the table that most of the means are in between the bracket of 4-5, it means that most of our respondents think that Training and Development has significant affect on the organizational performance. This also proves our fourth hypothesis which is; H4: Training development has significant effect on the organizational performance. . If we see the z-test value it lies in the critical region. It means the data and the results are significant of our fourth hypothesis. MANAGERIAL IMPLICATIONS Training and development is very important for an organization to compete with this challenging and changing world. Training and development is basically directly related to employee but its ultimate effect goes to organization because the end user is organization itself. This study will help organization to understand the importance of Training and Development. It will also help organization to understand which factors are important to keep in mind during the training and how a good training can be delivering to their employees. It will help them to understand that it is very necessary for them to give training to their employees so that they could perform the assign task in a better way. RECOMMENDATIONS In this research we review a lot of materials related to the variables used in this research and at the end we also proved our hypotheses. In the light of all this research and all the material which is being used to conduct this research and all the literature review we came to the decision that there should be Training and Development in every organization. Although we have review some disadvantages like it is costly to give training to the employees, but the advantages of Training are much more than its disadvantages which are briefly discussed in this study. We recommend that all organizations should provide Training their employees. We already have discussed that Training and Development have advantages not only for employee but the ultimate benefit is for the organization itself. If the performance of the employee is not good it will affect the whole organization. CONCLUSION Training and Development has positive effect on Organizational Performance. Discussion of all the results proves the hypotheses; H1: Training design has significant effect on the organizational performance, H2: On the job training has significant effect on the organizational performance, H3: Delivery style has significant effect on the organizational performance and H4: Training development has significant effect on the organizational performance. All these have positive effects on the Organizational Performance. It improves the Organizational Performance. On the Job Training is very effective and it also saves time and cost. Training and Development, On the Job Training, Training Design and Delivery style have significant effect on Organizational Performance and all these have positively affect the Organizational Performance. It means it increases the overall organizational performance. FUTURE STUDY Primary data is not collected; the study only depends on secondary data. Study can be conduct on different departments of the organizations that which department needs more training and development. Study focus on gender can also provide different results and one can conduct a study on different types training and development programs. REFRENCES 1. Stone R J. How to Write a 20 Page Research Paper in Under a Day

How to Write a 20 Page Research Paper in Under a Day So you've procrastinated again. You told yourself you wouldn't do this 2 months ago when your professor assigned you this. But you procrastinated anyway. Shame on you. It's due in a few hours. What are you going to do? Pick a Topic The important thing about this is to think of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, no matter how silly or far-fetched. It'll make your professor go â€Å"hmm, didn't think about that one†. You can even get your friends to help you with this one. The more the merrier. It's best to do this on a computer, because†¦ Reorder everything Put your most obvious argument first. Then put weird off the wall stuff, regardless of importance. Put the strongest argument for your case next. Now list the incidents that will help argue for your point. Don't know of any incidents in the news to help argue your point? That's ok. Make up some, except keep it really really generic. When it comes time to quote the source, remember this: There are over 6 billion people in the world. There are countless newspapers and other sources that document people doing†¦ stuff. If you list incidents that are generic enough and your topic isn't extremely weird, at least one person out there has done something notable/stupid/crazy enough to make it to the news. Also, people have sued each other over everything imaginable. Find a court case database. Your topic has SOMEHOW manifested itself in court at some point in history. I can almost guarantee it. Just make sure that the situations you come up with are physically possible. Now, list everything that could be construed to be the answer to the question â€Å"if elected, what would you do about this issue? † It's best to keep all this in the form of an outline. Spaces Now add several lines of space under each bullet. Keep adding spaces until your text document has reached the goal size of your paper. Now print it out. Get the hell away from your computer The reason why you should do this is because everyone magically becomes ADD when they are near a computer. You can check your AIM messages later. Write Write a fiery rant in each of the spaces you alloted. Get pumped. Just don't begin every paragraph with â€Å"I swear upon my father's grave†¦ † Also try not to repeat yourself too much. Be very specific. Talk to your reader as though they've never heard of your subject before. Write at about the same size that your typed version will be. Don't worry too much if you don't fill in all the spaces. But if you feel strongly enough about your topic, then this really shouldn't be a problem. If you're like me and can't think linearly you can skip around as much as you want. Go Back Inside Type everything. You'll also notice more things occur to you as you type. Go ahead and throw them in in the corresponding categories. Don't jump around too much at this point though. Maintain focus and bash out that essay as fast as possible. Although you should do this as fast as possible, be a typo nazi. Those little things really make it evident you did this at the last minute. Time for that whole â€Å"research† part Believe it or not, nothing you said was original. Remember what I said earlier about 6 billion people? Apply now. Pick each topic/case/scenario/subpoint. Anything you had to say about those has already been said by some scholar or professor or newspaper. Google it up. It won't take long. Take a few key words from your main argument of each section and see what you get. Paraphrase their main argument or quote a few lines. Add the proper citations. Do NOT plagiarize. Formatting Print. Turn in. Good job. Have a cookie.

Day After Tomorrow Reaction Paper Essay

My first day of school in my first year was so memorable but I felt a little bit nervous also because I was afraid, because I met my new classmates new teachers and new schoolmates. My first friend I met in our classroom was Edwin. Edwin and I, we always teased Charisa Suan that she was a fatty girl, and â€Å"WALAY LIGO’’ and Charisa got angry with us. And next was Roi, and Christian, we’ve been friends because of the dota, every our lunch break we went Internet Cafà © without taking our lunch because our attention was focus on the game and we don’t mind our lunch. Our adviser Ms.Flordelyn Magallanes before but now she is Mrs.Flordelyn Funtanar, she got angry with us during her period because we always came her subject late, and Mam Flordelyn Funtanar began irritate with us and she scolded with me and my classmates. The day I will not forget, when Mam Flordelyn, locked the door of our room, because we came late during her subject, and there we just listened in windows while he discussed our lessons. Sometimes during lunch break when we don’t have money we played â€Å"Takyan† on playground inside the campus together with my boys classmates. And Mam Flordelyn again got irritated with us, because she said â€Å"Mura daw mi ug mga bata’’ Our school have a many activities. In a month of July, we celebrated Nutrition Month.
